Lantern County opens the doors to Webb's Wonderful World, an imaginary Suffolk Parkland, full of friendship, laughter, love, and a bit of magic. The purpose of this site is to sell the books and games written or created by Frederick C Webb, who wants to share his love of life with people all over the world. The 'magic' is in his pen that never sleeps!
Lord Grit is the genial patron, who does nothing but is indispensable." He is the owner of Lantern County, and lives in Kindred Hall, his family 'Sit'.
He has an affectionate desire to help his 'Human Masters' especially the 0 - 5's, and in 2013 he founded the 'Happy Acorn Club'. The purpose of the club is 'to help our precious 'Little Acorn' children grow into 'Might Oak' people. To show them the illustrations and read them the stories, he humbly requests assistance from the parents, grandparents, and older children.
When the Lantern Gallery is put on the baby's bedroom wall, it provides 11 pictures for them to grow up with, and the gallery script gives parents and others a brief character sketch. Although a new born child cannot talk it can certainly understand an affectionate cuddle. The pictures on the bedroom wall are something grandparents and visitors will want to see, and the 'Babe in arms' will delight in giving them a hand waving tour. From this simple sharing, babies will get a sense of their importance; and a big door is opened.
As time goes by, the little children will have the stories from the Happy Acorn Club bumper book read to them, and will relate these to the illustrations on the bedroom wall. This will give them a special interest in the stories, and boost the desire to learn. In 'Webb's Wonderful World, everyone has happy dreams, and are also given the courage to make their dreams come true.
